China Eastern to Debuts in Toronto – China Eastern Airlines has begun operations between Shanghai Pudong Internatio­nal Airport and Toronto Pearson Internatio­nal Airport. The route will be operated by an A340-600 every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

American Adds Eight for Fall – More signs of the American Airlines - US Airways merger: The addition of eight new domestic routes from the new carrier’s hubs in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Philadelph­ia and Phoenix. Scheduled to launch Cleveland, OH, Grand Rapids, MI, Evansville, IN, Fort Wayne, IN and Bismarck, ND, a new destinatio­n for the combined carrier.

Delta Expands European Routes – Delta has launched daily year-round service from JFK in New York to Zurich. In addition, Delta will offer expanded service to Rome’s Boeing 767-300ER and daily Rome service will operate on an Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Qantas Upgrades DFW – SYD to A380 – Qantas Airlines has announced that the Airbus A380 will be deployed Sept.29 on its popular Dallas/Ft. Worth to Sydney route.

United Unveils New Nonstops to Tokyo, Panama City – United Airlines has announced daily nonstop service from San Francisco to Tokyo’s Haneda Ariport. The route will operate aboard a Boeing 777.

United is also planning nonstop service between their hub at Denver Internatio­nal Airport and Panama City beginning Dec 3, subject to government approval. The new and October aboard a Boeing 737-700.
