IHG Launches Avid Hotels
InterContinental Hotels Group has revealed the name of its new midscale brand, Avid Hotels. IHG expects the first locations to begin construction in early 2018 and the first hotel is anticipated to open in early 2019. The price point for the new brand will be about $10-$15 less than the company’s Holiday Inn Express brand.
Among the brand’s features: all newly built hotels; sound-reducing guestroom materials; complimentary IHG Connect WiFi service; complimentary breakfast; and grab and go market. Avid is the first of the company’s brands to use IHG’s master brand mark – An IHG Hotel – in communications and building signage. According to IHG, more than 150 owners have expressed interest in buying a franchise for the brand.
