IHG Launches Avid Ho­tels

In­terCon­ti­nen­tal Ho­tels Group has re­vealed the name of its new mid­scale brand, Avid Ho­tels. IHG ex­pects the first lo­ca­tions to be­gin con­struc­tion in early 2018 and the first ho­tel is an­tic­i­pated to open in early 2019. The price point for the new brand will be about $10-$15 less than the com­pany’s Hol­i­day Inn Ex­press brand.

Among the brand’s fea­tures: all newly built ho­tels; sound-re­duc­ing gue­stroom ma­te­ri­als; com­pli­men­tary IHG Con­nect WiFi ser­vice; com­pli­men­tary break­fast; and grab and go mar­ket. Avid is the first of the com­pany’s brands to use IHG’s mas­ter brand mark – An IHG Ho­tel – in com­mu­ni­ca­tions and build­ing sig­nage. Ac­cord­ing to IHG, more than 150 own­ers have ex­pressed in­ter­est in buy­ing a fran­chise for the brand.
