The surveys of 8,400 adults across 28 countries by Hotels.com travel experts, shows a rise in the demand for ‘activacations’– vacations that include such activities as strength and body weight training, mountaineering, HIIT swimming and hot yoga.
Top-notch hotel fitness facilities are now the most important consideration in selecting hotel accommodations for over a third of respondents (34 percent), compared to proximity of good restaurants (27 percent) and nightlife (9 percent). Over a quarter of the survey respondents look for state of the art fitness facilities and healthy menus, while one in five expect personal training and 17 percent expect free wearable fitness tech.
