WORLD’S LONGEST FLIGHT
SINGAPORE AIRLINES plans to take back the crown for the world’s longest flight. Beginning October 11, the airline offer service between Singapore’s Changi Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport, a flight that will cover 9,000 nautical miles and take up to 18 hours and 45 minutes.
The schedule will initially operate three times a week and move to daily departures on October 18. The flight offers two classes of service with 67 business class seats and 94 premium economy class seats aboard the new Airbus A350-900 ULR. Singapore Air is the launch customer for this aircraft and has an additional 7 on firm order with Airbus.
