WORLD’S LONG­EST FLIGHT

SIN­GA­PORE AIR­LINES plans to take back the crown for the world’s long­est flight. Be­gin­ning Oc­to­ber 11, the air­line of­fer ser­vice be­tween Sin­ga­pore’s Changi Air­port and Ne­wark Lib­erty In­ter­na­tional Air­port, a flight that will cover 9,000 nau­ti­cal miles and take up to 18 hours and 45 min­utes.

The sched­ule will ini­tially op­er­ate three times a week and move to daily de­par­tures on Oc­to­ber 18. The flight of­fers two classes of ser­vice with 67 busi­ness class seats and 94 pre­mium econ­omy class seats aboard the new Air­bus A350-900 ULR. Sin­ga­pore Air is the launch cus­tomer for this air­craft and has an ad­di­tional 7 on firm or­der with Air­bus.
