AIR PAS­SEN­GERS are look­ing to new tech­nolo­gies to give them more con­trol and in­for­ma­tion and to im­prove ef­fi­ciency when they travel, ac­cord­ing to the 2018 Global Pas­sen­ger Sur­vey from the In­ter­na­tional Air Trans­port As­so­ci­a­tion (IATA).

The sur­vey of over 10,000 re­spon­dents from 145 coun­tries, found trav­el­ers want real-time trip in­for­ma­tion de­liv­ered to per­sonal de­vices, bio­met­ric iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, more air­port au­to­ma­tion, se­cu­rity/ im­mi­gra­tion wait times of less than 10 min­utes, bags tracked through the jour­ney and a hu­man touch when things go wrong.
