JFK Expands
NEW YORK’S JOHN F. KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT has unveiled plans to construct two new large international terminals that will raise the airport’s capacity from 60 million passengers in 2017 to 80 million by 2035. The new international terminals would replace the current configuration of six smaller, standalone terminals connected by a system of roadways.
Construction on the $13 billion project is expected to commence in 2020, with the first facilities opening in 2023 and a projected completion date in 2025
