TAP AIR PORTUGAL is adding 15 new weekly flights from the USA and Canada by summer 2020 bringing to 71 the number of weekly flights between North America and Portugal.
Beginning June 2020, TAP will serve the New York market with four daily roundtrips to Portugal, adding a second daily flight to Lisbon from New York’s JFK along with its daily Newark-Lisbon service, plus boosting its Newark-Porto service to a daily operation,
TAP will add two weekly Miami-Lisbon flights this winter and a third next summer for a weekly total of 10 roundtrips. The airline is also adding two weekly frequencies to Chicago-Lisbon, and Washington, DC-Lisbon, making each a daily service. flytap.com
UNITED AIRLINES has unveiled a major expansion of its international flights from its hubs in Chicago, Denver, New York/Newark and San Francisco. New services include daily flights to Nice, France and Palermo, Italy. In addition United is adding Curacao to its Caribbean route network, operating on Saturdays beginning Dec. 7, subject to government approval.
The airline also announced additional flights to Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt and Zurich, and will resume seasonal summer service earlier to popular destinations including Athens, Naples, Barcelona and Porto.
Originally announced as seasonal service, United’s San Francisco-New Delhi,the route is being expanded to yearround, beginning Dec. 5. Also the first-ever nonstop service between New York/Newark and Cape Town, South Africa, begins operating Dec. 15, aboard Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. united.com
TURKISH AIRLINES has added flights to Mexico City and Cancún, the carrier’s 18th and 19th destinations in Americas. Services will be operated three days a week on IstanbulMexico City-Cancún route beginning Aug. 21. turkishairline.com
