Project near Olympics
Concord Pacific Place in Vancouver, a residential community on the north shore of False Creek, is in its final phases and preparing to meet the world, says its developer. The project, which will have 15,000 residents by completion, will be adjacent to the hockey venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics, as well as near things like the awards ceremonies and the Athlete’s Village. The developer of a hotel and luxury homes complex in Peachland, B.C., has proposed partnering with the District of Peachland council to construct a $2.9-million, year-round waterfront event and performance centre on a pier on Okanagan Lake. Trepanier Manor Corp. says the pier would be complete by 2011 and include a stage and boat moorage, as well as the potential for a club and wine bar. Looking to entertain the kids this summer in a fun way? Fairmont Hot Springs, which is undergoing a major redevelopment, is offering Youth Golf and Adventure Programs for kids ages 7 to 14. The three-day retreat includes lessons from CPGA pros and exploring the B.C. Rockies with adventure guides. It also includes team building activities, bear awareness presentations, survival skills training and hiking. The programs will be offered Aug. 4 to 6, 11 to 13, 18 to 20, and 25 to 27.
