Project sales pushed in B.C.’s Okanagan
The organizer of a much-talked-about “ bulk” sales campaign is taking its B.C. Lower Mainland success — more than 750 residences sold since February — to the Okanagan.
MAC Marketing Solutions says it now is the broker for a Penticton, B.C., development, Alysen Place, and a Westbank, B.C., development, Miravista.
The Penticton assignment is from a court-appointed receiver.
In Alysen Place, 34 of the homes are sold and occupied and 35 are unsold, MAC reports.
Price reductions range from 20 to 55 per cent and average more than $200,000 per home.
“Since starting to market Alysen Place, the MAC Bulk program has sold eight homes — a great sales volume considering Alysen Place has not sold a home for over 18 months,” says MAC’s Cam McNeill.
At Miravista, 189 of the homes are sold and occupied and 35 are unsold. Reductions in the MAC news release range from $70,900 to $93,900.
“The Okanagan is now showing all of the same market fundamentals that we have started to see in Vancouver since February, when the MAC Bulk team first sold 400 homes for Onni,” says McNeill.
“The realities of the Okanagan area are clear — it has the least number of housing starts in Canada, the financing rates are near record lows and prices have been reduced to below the replacement costs of the projects.”
