Royal treatment at Crown Isle
Plenty for buyers at golf project
In general, the B.C. real estate market is recovering — and so, too, is interest in Crown Isle Golf and Resort Community, says the development’s director of real estate.
“Just over 850 (homes) have been completed to date,” says Jason Andrew, who is also the director of golf operations at the 18-hole championship course in Courtenay, B.C.
Located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, about an hour’s flying time from Calgary, Crown Isle is a master-planned community of 348 hectares that will have 2,700 single-and multifamily homes at completion.
Housing has been integrated with the course and open space in small neighbourhood clusters, with golf course and mountain views available throughout the community.
Andrew says only a dozen lots remain in the Cambridge Park Estates phase of the community, with seven of them on the 15th fairway and five others on nearby cul-de-sacs.
As well, seven homes are currently under construction. In Cambridge Park Estates, house prices range from $475,000 to slightly more than $900,000.
With new construction beginning to react to the strengthening economy, resale activity is catching on again.
“Activity has been brisk over the past few months,” says Andrew. “After a very slow first half of the year, there have been more than 50 sales within the community over the past four months.”
So far this year, the average selling price for detached homes on the resale market is $580,900 — with patio homes at $336,071, lot sales (off the fairway) at $168,500, condos at $332,000, and quarter-ownership villas at $120,000.

There are several types of housing being developed at the project and they’re all integrated around the 18-hole golf course.
