See what’s making the big splash at the Waterfront project,
No doubt about it. Land-locked Calgarians love water. That may be the first feature that Waterfront tower in Eau Claire has to offer, but it certainly isn’t the only one that has attracted people to the development by Anthem Properties that’s now under construction just a stone’s throw from the Bow River.
The large complex consists of two 24-storey towers now under construction, with units anywhere from 581 square feet all the way up to a 3,500-square-foot penthouse.
A podium level under the second tower also has 139 studio and loft units of 500 to 600 square feet.
Another tower, some townhomes and a low-rise building are planned for the future, so by completion, more than 1,000 new housing units will grace the banks of the Bow River just east of Eau Claire Market.
“The first tower will be complete in about three months,” says Greg Zayadi, director of sales and marketing for Anthem, which is a Vancouver-based company. “We have sold 130 of the 177 units in that tower, with buyers who were originally local, then a few from Vancouver who know our company and know Calgary and believe it’s a good investment.”
The cement is just being poured about halfway up the second tower and construction is expected to finish on it in about one year.
Of the 133 units, slightly more than 70 have sold.
The Flats, the smaller studio and loft units, have been very popular.
