Developer involved in Okanagan projects
Breeze Properties is a partnership that involves Steve Brown, founder and president of Gypsum Drywall (Southern) Ltd. — one of Western Canada’s largest commercial drywall contracting firms.
The other partners are Doug Mazurek, vice-president of construction for Cove Properties, and John Lane, formerly with Nascor and now with Gypsum Drywall.
Brown has been, or is currently involved, in several other developments in the Okanagan area with different partners. These include:
Franklyn Central in Kelowna — Completed in 2008. At 260 Franklyn Road in the Rutland area of Kelowna, the development was designed by HMA Architects in Kelowna and is an entry-level apartment building with 42 twobedroom, two-bath units.
The Ashburry ( www.ashburry.ca) at 325 McIntosh Road in the Rutland area of Kelowna — completed in 2009. It was designed by S2 Architecture in Calgary and consists of one-and two-bedroom units in four storeys with an underground parkade.
Arrow Lakeside Homes ( www. arrowlakeresort.com) is about a 20-minute drive outside of Castlegar, B.C. — Tim Morgan, currently C.E.O. of Enerjet Airlines and former chief operating officer and founding partner of WestJet Airlines, is partner in the resort, which has units for sale. It is a 57unit lakeside condo project.
Vue 180 in Peachland, B.C. — The complex will consist of 20 high-end units, with the first two floors consisting of single-level homes and the remaining two floors two-storey loft units. S2 Architecture in Calgary has designed the complex — on property owned by Brown — which has development permits approved and already in place. It will be at the intersection of Columbia and Princeton in Peachland with views of Lake Okanagan.
