De­vel­oper in­volved in Okana­gan projects

Breeze Prop­er­ties is a part­ner­ship that in­volves Steve Brown, founder and pres­i­dent of Gyp­sum Dry­wall (South­ern) Ltd. — one of Western Canada’s largest com­mer­cial dry­wall con­tract­ing firms.

The other part­ners are Doug Mazurek, vice-pres­i­dent of con­struc­tion for Cove Prop­er­ties, and John Lane, for­merly with Nas­cor and now with Gyp­sum Dry­wall.

Brown has been, or is cur­rently in­volved, in sev­eral other de­vel­op­ments in the Okana­gan area with dif­fer­ent part­ners. These in­clude:

Franklyn Cen­tral in Kelowna — Com­pleted in 2008. At 260 Franklyn Road in the Rut­land area of Kelowna, the devel­op­ment was de­signed by HMA Ar­chi­tects in Kelowna and is an en­try-level apart­ment build­ing with 42 twobed­room, two-bath units.

The Ash­burry ( www.ash­burry.ca) at 325 McIn­tosh Road in the Rut­land area of Kelowna — com­pleted in 2009. It was de­signed by S2 Ar­chi­tec­ture in Cal­gary and con­sists of one-and two-bed­room units in four storeys with an un­der­ground parkade.

Ar­row Lake­side Homes ( www. ar­rowlak­ere­sort.com) is about a 20-minute drive out­side of Castle­gar, B.C. — Tim Mor­gan, cur­rently C.E.O. of En­er­jet Air­lines and for­mer chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer and found­ing part­ner of WestJet Air­lines, is part­ner in the re­sort, which has units for sale. It is a 57unit lake­side condo project.

Vue 180 in Peach­land, B.C. — The com­plex will con­sist of 20 high-end units, with the first two floors con­sist­ing of sin­gle-level homes and the re­main­ing two floors two-storey loft units. S2 Ar­chi­tec­ture in Cal­gary has de­signed the com­plex — on prop­erty owned by Brown — which has devel­op­ment per­mits ap­proved and al­ready in place. It will be at the in­ter­sec­tion of Columbia and Prince­ton in Peach­land with views of Lake Okana­gan.
