Last chance for life of King’s
Condo complex within Airdrie in last stage
Even kings have a time limit. It’s the last chance to live in The Courtyards of King’s Heights, the multifamily complex by Merge, the multi-family division of Beattie Homes, in Airdrie.
The apartment condominium complex on Airdrie’s southeast side is now in the last stage of development. The last of the three buildings that make up The Courtyards of King’s Heights is now selling — 42 units of the 126 in total are all that remain in the popular development in the Melcor Developments’ land that’s crowned with a large, open courtyard in the middle for all to enjoy.
The three-storey, low-rise stacked condominium complex sits on 2.1 hectares, with the buildings in a U-shape, the 0.36-hectare courtyard in the middle.
It features a gazebo and landscaping to bring the outside into the condo lifestyle.
In addition, the ample parking spaces around the complex act as a buffer for the surrounding neighbourhood.
The units, themselves, highlight the green space with spacious balconies to further enhance the outdoor appeal.
In fact, some of the floor plans include two large decks and some have decks as big as 2.4 metres by 4.9 metres.
Inside, the features are made for convenience and ease of care.
Look for such standards as five appliances, including an over-therange microwave/hood fan and a front-loading washer and dryer, fullheight kitchen backsplash, maple cabinets in kitchens, a Hunter Douglas blind package, and roughed-in gas line on balconies.
Each home comes with a parking stall and, with an elevator in each of the small-scale buildings, convenience is at a premium.
Another big bonus for homeowners, and one that will save much money over the course of the ownership period, is the construction of the buildings to Built Green standards.
BuiltGreen is a voluntary program where builders not only utilize green building techniques and products,
But they include a component of water conservation and waste recycling to make the homes as environmentally-friendly as possible — and that will add up not only to a more comfortable, healthy home, but one that is easier on the environment and will save energy consumption.
“In turn, that will also help reduce operating costs of the buildings themselves, which will lower the condo fees,” says Greg Clement, manager of special projects for Beattie Homes.
“The maintenance freedom of the complex means people will be able to enjoy their free time, not be saddled with upkeep and the expenses that go along with that.”
Both one and twobedroom units are available. The onebedroom units range from 640 square feet to approximately 672 square feet.
The two-bedroom models are the Shine at 930 square feet with two bedrooms, each with its own balcony, and the Grove II at 990 square feet with two bedrooms and a study.

That balcony is a generous 2.4 metres by almost five metres.
With its ideal location in southeast Airdrie, access to the Queen Elizabeth 2 Highway is fast and convenient.
It’s close to Stoney Trail, CrossIron Mills shopping complex, and the full-service Airdrie Co-op Centre just west of the QEII.
“Location is everything,” says Clement. “It is positioned on the CalgaryEdmonton corridor within a 10-minute drive to the airport and 30 minutes to downtown.”
So far, the development has attracted a variety of buyers, many of them singles and first-time buyers, he says.
“It is so important to pick the right investment that will give the best return with all the features and benefits that will sell the quickest.
“Compare and see why we think we are Airdrie’s best buy. Make the right choice an informed choice.”
