BUILDINGS GETS NOD
Building permits have been approved by city officials for more townhouses in Currie Barracks.
Homes by Avi — which is building the Victoria Cross townhouses in the Canada Lands Co. development — is moving forward with construction following the approval of more than $5 million worth of permits from the city’s development and building approvals department.
The permits were for three buildings.
Currie Barracks is the final phase of the redevelopment of the former Canadian Forces Base Calgary on the west side of Crowchild Trail at the Flanders Avenue exit.
In addition to the Currie permits, city officials also gave the nod to a handful of other projects, approving permits for more than $9 million worth of multi-family residential development.
