Inner-city living gets fresh look
Nuvo Urban Homecraft celebrates 20th anniversary of parent company
Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. In a couple of weeks, a 700-square-foot, circa 1940s bungalow in Altadore will be demolished and replaced by a contemporary, side-by-side duplex.
Each side will have triple the square footage of the original — and offer a world of difference in design and looks.
The metamorphosis will be undertaken by Nuvo Urban Homecraft, a division of 20-year-old Channel Development Corp.
President Martin Kathrens says the whole idea behind the new brand was two-fold — to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original renovation design and construction business, and to maintain a strong profile in the wake of the economic downturn.
