Havenworth by Courtenay Group

With its extensive use of stone and timber, the Havenworth exudes the relaxed appeal of a chic mountain retreat.

This small, intimate fourstorey project developed by Courtenay Group is in the midst of the well-established northwest neighbourhood of North Haven, just a stone’s throw from the Calgary Winter Club and a few minutes’ drive from Nose Hill Park.

The project offers 20 sophisticated and high-end luxury units, with a mix of two-bedroom, two-bedroom-plus-den, and threebedroom units.

“We’ve already sold 10 units,” says Doreen Mallarky, sales agent on the project, who adds the range of buyers is varied.

“We’ve had interest from young professionals to empty nesters and quite a few of our owners are members of the Winter Club. That seems to be a real draw.”

Each of the four floors features only f ive units, each extending from an octagonal central foyer, creat- ing a sense of intimacy and cohesiveness between the units.

“There are no long corridors, so everybody gets to know each other,” says Mallarky.

The project’s three show suites are located on the main floor.

The 1905-square-foot corner unit with three bedrooms is def initely a showstopper.

The splendour starts at the entry, where elegant stone tile frames the solid f ir front door.

One steps across a granite threshold into a foyer with a tiered and layered etched glass wall.

Past the foyer, the open concept plan through the living, dining and kitchen areas is spacious and bright.

On the west wall, framing the living area, large floor-to-ceiling windows capture views onto the largest of the home’s three terraces.

The south wall in the living area features a contemporary gas f ireplace with a polished marble hearth and a floor-to-ceiling surround.

The kitchen is a well-designed and well-def ined space within the open plan.

A large eating bar doubles as an extra prep area and the stainlesssteel appliances include a JennAir f ive-burner electric cooktop, selfcleaning oven and 25-cubic-foot refrigerator.

It also has a Braun stainless steel hood fan and Miele dishwasher.

Making organization a snap, ample cabinets and drawers are custom crafted for spices and kitchen utensils.

Throughout the home, the use of unique and interesting wood detailing is apparent everywhere from the chocolate stained flooring consisting of engineered Pangali Ironwood hardwood, to the African Sapelle mahogany baseboards and interior doors.

The unit also contains Shakerstyle cabinets made of exotic and sustainable Lyptus wood.

Other thoughtful features in- clude 76-inch raised vanities in the main and master bathrooms, plenty of shelves in the oversized laundry room, and a built-in vacuflo system.

Tripled glazed glass allows the interior to remain peacefully quiet, despite the proximity to 14th Street.

Views are spectacular, especially from the third and fourth levels — where, depending on the condo’s orientation, city skyscrapers or mountain vistas dazzle.

All homes are individually heated and air-conditioned.

Home prices include storage space and titled underground heated and secured parking spaces (three bedroom units come with two titled spaces).
