Couple returns to mountains
Empty nesters buy Canmore villa in Spring Creek Mountain Village
Before kids, Leslie Roberts and husband Mike Mcgeough hiked, biked and scrambled in the mountains. Now, as Calgary empty nesters, they are returning to those loves with not only updated gear and renewed passion, but also a mountain town they are making their home.
The couple has bought a villa in Spring Creek Mountain Village in Canmore. And, instead of having it as just a weekend getaway, their Calgary home is up for sale and they will be relocating to Canmore, less than an hour down the road from the city.
“Our boys are launched, so it was time to get back to the things we enjoyed before kids,” says Roberts.
“We went hiking a lot in Canmore last year and hated to leave and come back to Calgary. We talked of buying a weekend place and started looking six months ago.”
