Last chance for Red Haus buyers
Fourth building now on market
Apartments in the planned fourth and final building of the Red Haus condo development in the northwest community of Royal Oak go on sale today.
After more than 500 people moved into the first three buildings, known known for their distinctive red roofs suites in the final building — a 136-unit project called Vandenburg — are now on the market.
The project is being developed by Streetside Development Corp.
“It’s been a great place for people to call home,” says Lisa Feist, operations manager for Streetside Develop- ment Corp.
Like the other Red Haus buildings, Vandenburg will be a four-storey, wood-frame structure with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units.
The suites are available in 15 floor plans ranging from 573 to 1,067 square feet.
“We’ve maintained an open concept,” says Feist of the floor plans, adding that the building’s “functional” kitchens are an appealing unit feature.
Units at Vandenburg start at $170,000.
Most Red Haus buyers tend to be firsttime homeowners, says Feist.
“They’re a younger generation just starting out,” she says. Feist has also seen buyers who are downsizing, or as “rightsizing.”
“It’s a pretty diverse crowd,” she says.
In addition to the apartments, other appealing aspects of Red Haus include it being within walking distance of a shopping centre and the development’s club house, which feature pool tables, an exercise facility and a library.
“It’s a community within a community,” says Feist.
A public launch of sales starts today at noon.
The sales centre is at 126 30 Royal Oak Plaza, N.W. It is open from 1 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Fridays to Sundays.
