Soho has buyers in ‘pocket’
Duplex contains pocket office on main floor
In many housing designs, an open-concept plan connects three rooms. This popular main floor layout includes the kitchen, dining room and living room.
But one more room is added to the mix in a new show home by Lionsworthe Homes. A home office joins the open-concept layout in a new duplex model in SkyView Ranch named Soho.
Called “the pocket office,” the space — which has a built-in desk — sits just off the living room.
Whether finishing off work from the day job or just surfing the Internet, residents can be online and stay connected with other people at home.
In addition to the open concept, the main floor feels spacious due to soaring nine-foot ceilings.
The kitchen boasts 42-inch dark maple cabinets and custommade countertops with an eating bar.
It also features a full-height, glass-tile backsplash and a stainless-steel appliance package including dishwasher and a microwave with hood fan, along with a fridge and a stove with a glass cooktop.
In addition, there’s a doublebowl, stainless-steel kitchen sink with a chrome veggie sprayer.
The kitchen also opens to a spacious pantry.
A dining room is located between the kitchen and living room.
A loft, full bathroom and two bedrooms — including a master suite — are on the second floor.
The master bedroom connects to an ensuite and walk-in closet.
The ensuite features include oversized modern chrome fixtures, a glass mosaic tile backsplash and maple cabinets.
The loft is dressed as a second office, offering a more private space to tackle work at home.
But the space is multi-purpose and can be used as a nursery.
The home’s exterior has a neighbourly feel with an inviting front porch.
The Soho comes with an assortment of energy efficient features. This includes a drip humidifier, 50-gallon energy saver electric hot-water tank and a high-efficiency furnace.
It is also equipped with a complete security system that includes a keypad and motion control, along with hardwired carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.
The main floor half bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen and features a porcelain pedestal sink under a mirror.
The home also comes with a dentfree stain grade fibreglass front door, a double car parking pad and rough-ins for a garburator and VacuFlow.
The dining area in the Soho is next to the eating bar of the kitchen.
