Lighthouse Landing beacon for buyers
When Tim Logel walked with his daughter through an empty lot in Coventry Hills in 2004, it didn’t take long to see its potential.
The president of Cardel Lifestyles says he saw value in existing nearby amenities and a “vision for the project began to formulate in my mind.”
That project was Lighthouse Landing, a condo development that sold its last unit earlier this month after opening for sales in 2005.
“The development was our most successful so far in our 10-year history,” says Logel.
Lighthouse Landing includes 304 condos units in five buildings and 207 townhouse units over 27 blocks in a New England theme.
“We spent considerable time making sure the floor plans were the best design we could build so that going forward the customers who would have a home they would love,” says Logel.
Lighthouse Landing inspired layouts in the builder’s later developments, such as Prestwick Place, Panorama West, Cranston Place, Riverside towns and Ranchview Vistas, he says.
Condos in the development range from 765 to 1,000 square feet in a selection of four models, while townhomes range from 1,260 to 1,365 square feet in three models.
Prices in the development are from $175,00 to $350,000.
A grand opening was held for a new release of models in 2007, attracting an average of 750 groups to its sales centre each month, which Logel says is “tremendous interest in one development.”
The development’s proximity to the Cardel Place recreation facility, along with access to transit and the airport, appealed to buyers.
Another standout feature for buyers is Lighthouse Landing’s underground parking.
“Being able to get into a warm car in a Calgary winter weather is a big plus,” says Logel.
Lighthouse Landing is on a site with parks and extensive pathways that lead to a lighthouse and gazebo, which he says was “a big hit with buyers.”
When Cardel Lifestyles finished development on Lighthouse Landing, there were “virtually no resale units for sale,” says Logel.
