From the top of Schweitzer Mountain Resort in Idaho, people can enjoy the views of three mountain ranges, along with views of Canada and three U.S. states.
With a vertical drop of about 730 metres, Schweitzer is in line with resorts such as Nakiska, Kimberley and Vernon, B.C.’s Silver Star. The snow is dry and deep, much like Fernie and Kimberley.
The terrain offers excellent advanced and expert skiing and boarding, while still providing plenty of beginner and intermediate options. The hill has a high- speed six-pack named Stella, as well as two high-speed quads, one triple chair, three doubles, a T-bar and a magic carpet. Three terrain parks keep it interesting for the freestylers. The longest groomer is 3.2 kilometres of corduroy. Visit schweitzer.com
