For people in the market for a duplex, two distinctly designed show homes by a seasoned Calgary builder open in Auburn Bay today.

Brookfield Homes is unveiling two of its Side-by-Side models — the Linden and the Cypress — at 362 Auburn Bay Ave. S.E.

“The two show homes provide a spectacular combination of practicality, open-planned living and affordability,” says sales manager Ryan Moon.

Both the Linden and the Cypress are 1,404-square-foot floor plans with three bedrooms and two-and-a half bathrooms.

In total, six Side-by-Side models are offered in Auburn Bay. They range from 1,116 to 1,440 square feet and are available from the low $300,000s before tax.

They include the company’s newest model, the Willow, which ranges from 1,259 to 1,270 square feet. The two show homes are designed by Calgary firm Rochelle Cote Interior Design Corp.

For the Cypress, the look and feel is a modern, dramatic expression, with dark fabrics and high-gloss wallpaper, says owner Rochelle Cote.

The Linden’s look and feel is inspired by family living.

“We wanted to highlight the family feel of the community in the design concept,” says Cote.

“By using bold, over-scaled patterns, rustic finishes, and warm grey and taupe tones through the home, we were able to give it a more layered, rustic ambience.” Auburn Bay is a lake community master-planned by Brookfield Residential.

It was a finalist for Community of the Year at this year’s Calgary Region SAM (Sales and Marketing) Awards.

In Auburn Bay, Brookfield also offers single-family homes, as well as townhomes that include a new project called Muskoka.

“We want future homebuyers to experience the fulsome offerings of Auburn Bay, including the nearby park and wet pond and the Seton commercial district, which recently became home to retailers including TD Bank, Petro-Canada, Bank of Montreal and Shoppers Drug Mart,” says Moon.
