Upscale river living offered in Cochrane
Two show homes are now on stream in an upscale condo project by Jayman MasterBuilt at a riverside community in Cochrane.
The seasoned Calgary builder’s RiverReach development offers 41 units in two-storey manors and bungalow villas in the Riviera phase of Riversong.
The show homes offer buyers a look at each housing style, with the 1,572-square-foot Edgewater villa and the 2,020-sq.-ft. Westwynd manor both on display.
“The Westwynd has a very openconcept main floor,” says Warren Saunders, sales manager for Jayman MasterBuilt. “The actual floor plan when you look at On paper doesn’t do it justice until you actually see it in person.”
Saunders says windows are a big part of the floor plan. “That whole great room, nook and kitchen area is great for entertaining because it’s very wide open,” he says.
The Edgewater features towering nine-foot ceilings.
In both floor plans, the mud room is a sunken area, which Saunders says adds storage space.
“The benefit to the customer is that it reduces any landing in the garage so you have extra space in the garage because there isn’t a big landing inside the garage space which normally takes out three or four feet of width,” says Saunders.
Another draw for both homes is the cooking space, he adds.
“Both show homes have our gourmet-style kitchen with a chimneystyle hood fan and granite countertops and built-in appliances,” says Saunders. “Definitely one of the selling features in the home is the kitchen.”
Saunders says these homes offer the “fit and finish,” specifications that the builder’s single-family homes are known for.
They are also constructed to a BuiltGreen Gold standard.
The entire Riviera phase is built to this standard.
BuiltGreen is a national program that promotes energy-efficient and environmentally responsible materials and methods in the construction of new homes.
Buildings in this complex come in one of three architectural styles, including a Rocky Mountain, Arts and Crafts and shingle style design.
“No two buildings are the same. They have either a different colour or different style,” says Saunders.
“(Another) benefit to this project is that it’s heavily landscaped in terms of rear landscaping, irrigation, and for a lock-and-leave lifestyle, there’s snow removal, lawn care — it’s fully maintained.”
Seven buildings, with 28 homes, front onto the Bow River, while on the other side of the street there are three buildings and 13 units that back on to a wooden environmental reserve.
Villas at the development start at $562,700, and the manors start at $508,100. Both prices include GST.
