A Calgary family is making fond memories at their cottage at beautiful Gull Lake in central Alberta. We look at Meridian Beach.

Jocelyn Frazer has happy memories as a child at Gull Lake. And with her weekend retreat at Meridian Beach, she and her family have been able to make even more. Jocelyn and her husband Geoff bought a lot and built a cottage at the scenic central Alberta development.

“My grandparents had a cottage that they owned since shortly after the war, and as a child I grew up spending summers at Gull Lake and had really fond memories,” says Jocelyn.

Friends of the couple bought a lot at Meridian Beach — and in 2009 the Frazers stopped by to see if it was right for them.

“We fell in love with the lot that we have,” says Jocelyn.

They bought the lot and built their cottage, which was ready in time to spend Christmas in the following year. “It has been a wonderful gathering point for our family,” she says.

The couple has four children, two of whom live outside of the province, so a cosy meeting place next to the lake works well.
