Bring a piece of sunny islands to your space

Travel always gets my creative energy flowing. On a recent trip to the Cayman Islands, the laid-back attitude, the incredible colours, and, of course, the high style made me think about how I could bring a piece of island life home with me.

Let’s face it, Canadian winters are tough, sometimes feeling never-ending, so having a few island reminders in your decor can bring you back to a place of stylish warmth. In the Cayman Islands, the colours are bold, the water glows and natural elements like ropes and shells surround you.

To achieve the look, you don’t need a shipping container or a yacht-sized budget. It’s all about incorporating splashes of colour, organic touches and subtle icons from your adventures — hopefully saving you enough money to plan your next trip.
