Project keeps Avi Urban on award roll
A southwest Calgary townhome complex has once again earned Avi Urban the trophy for top multi-family community.
The Enclave at Castle Keep was crowned Best MultiFamily Community at this year’s Canadian Home Builders’ Association Calgary region SAM (Sales and Marketing) Awards, announced March 29 at the Telus Convention Centre. This is a repeat win for Avi Urban after the builder took home the same trophy at last year’s contest for Victoria Cross, Phase Two in Currie Barracks.
“We are proud of our win at The Enclave,” says president Charron Ungar. “The development has been well recognized for our work and we are proud to have our name behind it.”
The Enclave is comprised of 136 units within 21 buildings and was completed earlier this year. Floor plans at this development range from 1,160 to 1,434-square feet. Along with winning the category, another one of Avi Urban’s projects finished as a finalist for the award. Victoria Cross, Terrace Homes in Currie Barracks was among the top finishers. This project features 13 townhomes modelled after dwellings Ungar saw while visiting Poundbury in England. The Terrace Homes development was completed in 2013.
Other finalists for this award include the first building of Champagne by Remington Development Corp., the Montreux Villas by Trico Homes and Calla by QualexLandmark. Champagne features a French country exterior design and is comprised of buildings made from precast concrete near the Bow River in Quarry Park. It offers one bedroom plans from 815-square feet, two bedrooms from 1,220-square feet and 1,345-square feet is the starting size for penthouses.
At Montreux Villas, the floor plans range from 1,282-to-1,530square feet. The project, in the estate community of The Summit of Montreux, is sold out.
Calla is a 168-unit, mixeduse residential skyscraper in the downtown Connaught district.
The Enclave at Castle Keep by Avi Urban won the Best Multi-Family Community award at this year’s regional SAM awards.
