Slate blends style, function
Great room stars in Brookfield development
While some townhome plans clamp down on square footage in areas such as the great room, the Slate gives this space the star treatment.
Its great room is reminiscent of something from a singlefamily home with an expansive, airy space offering enough room for a large furniture set and even a spot for shelving. Adding to its open feeling are nine-foot ceilings. The ceiling has a knock-down texture throughout the home, except for the closets.
The Slate is a stylish, functional 1,187-square-foot bungalow style townhome with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s part of a development by Brookfield Residential in Cranston called Harvest Mosaic.
The focal point of the great room is a stylish gas fireplace and mantle flanked by built-in cabinets. These cabinets front setback sections of the wall where it makes sense to add personality with an accent paint or funky wallpaper. Plenty of sunshine pours into the great room thanks to oversized frontfacing windows. These window are vinyl glad for energy efficiency.
“The spacious layout of the Slate, combined with its functional design, offers the perfect setting where homeowners can enjoy having the flexibility to transform their home as needs and lifestyles evolve,” says Kelly Halliday, sales and marketing manager for Brookfield Residential.
“What makes this single level living floor plan so special is its spacious patio and entertaining space.”
This patio has space for large deck furniture and is an ideal backdrop for entertaining on a warm summer evening.
Around the corner is a galleystyle kitchen and corner dining area nestled against a rearfacing window.
The kitchen boasts laminate counters, a double stainless steel sink with a single-level pull out faucet, and a ceramic tile backsplash under the upper-cabinets. Down the hall from the dining space are the two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has an ensuite and there’s also a full bathroom.
The bathrooms have laminate counters, a one-piece tubshower combination and white plumbing fixtures.
A larger version of the floor plan, called Slate II, is offered at Brookfield’s development in Riverstone of Cranston named Mosaic Riverstone.
