Blonde Salad blogger’s shoes come to Browns
Twinkle toes by Chiara Ferragni, the Blonde Salad blogger and businesswoman, have landed at Browns shoe stores in Canada.
The glitter shoes, called Flirting, come in silver, gold and blue, and are adorned with lipsticks and winks, with each shoe in a pair being different.
Browns senior buyer Kate Watt fell in love with them when she saw them in Luisa Via Roma in Rome.
“They’re so quirky,” she said. “It’s a coup de coeur.”
Ferragni, who is Italian but is making inroads in the U.S., is among an elite group of international bloggers whose personal style posts have launched lucrative businesses.
A pretty blond who follows a mixed bowl of interests, and presumably eats plenty of salad, Ferragni has 2.6 million followers on Instagram.
According to The Business of Fashion, she was getting six million page views a month on her blog at the start of this year.
Her first foray into shoes was a collaboration collection with Steve Madden. She has also teamed up with Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Superga and others.
“Bloggers are becoming celebrities in themselves,” Watt said. “Instead of becoming a vehicle to show what others are selling, they are selling their own style.”
Ferragni’s collection includes chained booties, thick lugged sneakers and sandals and motorcycle boots, but Browns has so far bought just the glitter flats, which come in loafer and slip-on sneaker styles.
Chiara Ferragni, the Blonde Salad blogger, was at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year.
