CRANSTON: Some new units will have mountain views
“It’s a beautiful layout. I love that you walk into this beautiful, bright kitchen and you’ve got your living area centrally located, so it gives more of an open-concept-type feel for a condo, which makes it feel a little bit bigger.”
Going the two-bedroom route made sense from a number of angles. For now, the secondary bedroom will serve as a guest room.
“I’ve got friends and family that can come and stay,” she says. “From an investment standpoint, down the road, if I do decide to rent it out it’s easier to rent out a twobedroom condo.”
Condos at Cranston Ridge are offered in four interior colour packages. Standard features include nine-foot ceilings, kitchens with an appliance package, a full-height backsplash, double stainless-steel sink and chrome single-handle faucet. The windows are low-e, where e stands for emissivity, a measure of energy loss. The carpet has an eight-pound underlay and there’s linoleum in the kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms and entry.
“As a designer, I have pretty high standards, for sure,” Williams says. “When I went in and saw what all my options were, I was going over in my mind how I could customize it in a way that would be perfectly me. An hour later, I was setting up a time for a purchase agreement. So I was definitely impressed.”
Cranston Ridge is located between two park areas and is across from a pathway that leads to Fish Creek Provincial Park. Its third building, consisting of 56 units, is expected to launch sales this fall. There are five buildings in total. The third building is slated to offer pricing on two-bedroom condos ranging from $209,900 to $339,900, before tax. Some of these units have views of the Rocky Mountains says Brad Logel, sales and mar- keting manager. “Cranston is pretty much fully developed,” Logel adds. “It’s got the schools, the shopping, the community association.”
Settling into an already-established community was “appealing as a homebuyer,” Williams says.
Her new place is in the first building and she’s slated to take possession in January.
“I wasn’t set on buying, so I was looking to keep my options open,” Williams says. “I just thought I would stop by the sales centre and the location obviously was fantastic.”
Cranston Ridge sells out of a sales centre at 302 Cranston Road S.E. The community is master-planned by Brookfield Residential and boasts a wide range of housing options, including various multi-family options, starter homes, move-up homes and estate homes.
Cranston Ridge is Cardel Lifestyles’ second development in the community. Its first was Cranston Place, which at press time, was 97 per cent sold out. Cardel Lifestyles also has developments in various stages of sales in Sage Hill and Panorama Hills in northwest Calgary.
