Bucci launches a landmark
Inner-city condo to grace vibrant neighbourhood
With its striking architecture with warm wood detail, Bucci Developments’ latest project promises to be as much of a landmark as its namesake.
Kensington will be a 77–unit, sixstorey, concrete, mixed-use building with a commercial focus on the ground level and residential above. This is the second offering by Bucci in the area — Ven is just a few blocks east of Kensington next to the McHugh Bluffs. To be built on the site of the former Carpenters’ Union Hall on 10th Street N.W., the sales centre across the street offers an opportunity to experience what the homes in Kensington will look and feel like — sophisticated, generous, thoughtful and ultimately inviting.
The H2 Plan is a one-bedroom, one-bath unit with flex room. It’s a spacious 642-square feet with a private balcony. Entering the suite, a handy niche to the left provides a space for a small table to put down keys and bags. Next to it is the flex room.
Here, it illustrates a useful space to hold the stacked laundry, as well as act as a mud room and storage area. It could easily be transformed into a home office if desired.
To the right, the C-shaped kitchen offers extensive cabinets along the two walls, leaving the peninsula free for an extended ledge that seats three generously.
The double-undermount sink faces into the suite, providing a sense of space for the workspace.
This is a sensible kitchen, with the space-saving Magic Corner pullout shelves to maximize space usage in the corner.
The gas range is 90 degrees to the sink and offers an over-the-range microwave.
The refrigerator is counter-depth with a bottom drawer freezer by Fisher-Paykel. The dishwasher, gas range, single wall oven and microwave are all by Bosch.
The kitchen is not only sensible, but sleek and sophisticated too. Glossy cabinetry with chrome pulls and a bright quartz countertop make for clean lines. Convenient for entertaining is the wine rack built into the shelving closest to the dining area. The dining area provides plenty of room for friends to enjoy a sit-down dinner, and then move over to the couch and chairs with after-dinner drinks to continue the conversa- tion into the evening.
The balcony in the show suite offers a protected and private outdoor space. The walls on three sides will shelter the deck from wind on breezy days, extending its use even on cooler days.
The patios come with gas barbecue hookups.
Next to the dining area is a door to the master ensuite, with the walk-through closet to the right and the master bedroom, which holds a queen-size bed comfortably. To the left is the ensuite, with a large soaker tub in one corner, next to the glass-walled shower. For those who like to sing in the shower, the Kohler Moxie shower head comes PROJECT: Kensington BUILDER/DEVELOPER: Bucci Developments Price: The H2 model starts at $304,900, plus GST.
