Construction accident kills man
EDMONTON • A man died Thursday afternoon at a construction site on Edmonton’s south side.
Edmonton police Insp. Darlene Savoie said emergency crews responded to an industrial accident just after 1 p.m. Police confirmed the fatality, and are treating it as an accident. The investigation has been passed to Occupational Health and Safety.
The structure is in the middle of a field surrounded by residential subdivisions. A sign at the site reads “Bird-Graham Schools.” The government of Alberta website announced the joint venture company as one of several builders awarded private-public partnership contracts in April 2010.
