Foresight lacking

Re: “Reopen Barlow,” Letter, April 6.

I am so terribly disappointed in the city’s lack of planning surrounding the closure of Barlow Trail. This was a major traffic route and it seems the city just shrugged off its importance.

Where did they think all the traffic was going to go? Why wasn’t an alternate route provided?

In a city this size, you simply cannot close down a heavily used road and not open another one in its place.

And don’t tell me it was because of a lack of time and money.

Nobody’s going to buy that. It angers me to be stuck in entirely unnecessary jammed-up traffic, along with so many hardworking Calgarians, burning through our fuel and time.
