Telus to hire 250 to handle growth

Wireless • Telus is hiring 250 customer service agents and technicians in Calgary to handle TV and wireless growth, the company says.

The Vancouver-based company, which has been aggressively marketing its Optik TV service, is hosting a job fair April 16 at its offices to fill the spots, as well as taking applications online at telus. com/careers.

“The customer response has been terrific and, as a result, we’re hiring in Calgary,” Monty Carter, Telus’ senior vice-president of enterprise solutions, said in a release.

“To keep up with growing customer demand, we need 250 new technicians and customer care agents in Calgary alone by the end of June.”

Earlier this year, Telus reported that it had a 10 per cent television subscription market share in Alberta and B.C.
