You can get great information from them in terms of planting times, care, diseases and pests. ] Look for short maturing varieties, from 55-70 days, which will mature before the frost hits. Grow what you like to eat. ] ] Find recipes for what you are growing.
] Try growing a new vegetable every year. It’s fun to widen your horizons. ] Learn the water requirements for the vegetables you are growing. If possible group similar ones together so that you don’t over or under water.
] Use all the season extenders possible, such as row covers, cold frames, winter sowing, hot beds and mulching. ] Don’t give up if a crop doesn’t work out this year.
