Climb Calgary Tower for Earth Day


Celebrate Wild Alberta this year at the Calgary Tower with Calgary’s premier Earth Day event: the Alberta Wilderness Associatio­n’s 20th annual Climb & Run for Wilderness on April 16.

The Climb & Run for Wilderness will have people of all ages reaching new heights! Join more than 1,000 people in supporting Alberta’s wilderness legacy and the work that goes into protecting it. Events include: The Run for Wilderness, beginning at 8 a.m. Run one kilometre around the base of the tower, then race 802 steps to the top.

The Climb for Wilderness takes place between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. — join hundreds of Albertans to climb in celebratio­n of the wildlife and surroundin­gs that make our province beautiful.

And don’t miss the Wild Alberta Expo: discover our wild places and the people working hard to protect them. There will also be a Time Trial Event on April 15, where 20 tough competitor­s will have the chance to race up the tower in this timed race.

So, come join the Alberta Wilderness Associatio­n on April 16 at the Calgary Tower and help us defend Wild Alberta!
