Trial ordered after day home death


A Medicine Hat woman accused of killing a 19-month-old girl in her custody as a day home operator will stand trial.

Erin Jackman will face arraignmen­t Aug. 18 in Medicine Hat on charges of manslaught­er and failure to provide the necessitie­s of life.

The toddler was one of four kids inside the day home in July 2010 when she was seriously injured. She died two days later in hospital from her head injury.
