Habs re-sign Pacioretty

The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to a two-year contract extension with Max Pacioretty, whose NHL season was cut short by a controversial hit from Boston’s Zdeno Chara, the team said on Monday. Pacioretty, who missed the final month of the NHL’s regular season and the playoffs, had 24 points in 37 games for Montreal during the 2010-11 season before suffering a season-ending neck injury and concussion in March.
