Eye-catching Ellsworth
Morrison home backs up first impression with chic interior
For a stylish, two storey award-winner in Auburn Bay, first impressions count. The Ellsworth model by Morrison Homes is an eye-catcher with its chic upscale interior.
But the 2,710-square-foot home makes its mark before one enters the front door. The home’s exterior is a smart, Arts and Crafts design with lake cottage-inspired accents.
Well-suited for a family with a teenager, the home comes with a three-car garage. Despite its capacity, the garage appears to be an appropriate fit, not overpowering the front of the home.
Inside, the Ellsworth is space-efficient. The model offers a flexible upstairs bedroom layout that can be modified depending on the buyer’s needs.
It allows for a three-bedroom open-to-below plan with a bonus room, or four bedrooms and a bonus room with a vaulted ceiling.
The master bedroom has large windows with a spacious walkin closet. The room’s ensuite includes his and hers vanities, a deluxe jetted tub and a steam shower.
In addition to the en suite, there is a full bathroom on the second floor and a half bathroom on the first floor.
For convenient access from the bedrooms to the laundry, the washer and dryer are stationed on the second floor of the plan.
Downstairs, the great room, complete with a fireplace, is brought to life with towering windows that make up much of the 18 foot open-to-below space.
These windows are ideal for a family, giving a full view of the home’s backyard.
The layout’s open concept brings much of that natural light into the neighbouring dining area and kitchen.
Food preparation space is taken care of with an eight-foot island and lightly speckled granite countertops.
Morrison Homes was a multiaward winner at the 2010 SAM Awards, and one of the Calgary builder’s honours came by way of the Ellsworth.
The model at 83 Auburn Sound captured top honours in the $470,000-$534,999 price category (prices don’t include lot).
