Lawson’s versatility engages

-

Sometimes, a do-it-yourself project can quickly evolve into a do-it-yourself disaster without the necessary expertise to help manage the risks.

Lawson Projects, a Calgary-based company specializing in project management, helps clients minimize the risks that can put a project in peril.

“We are a proven and personable team of construction executives that are in demand by both new and repeat clients because of the valuable training and experience that we have, coupled with a set of wellestablished project management processes and procedures,” says managing director Lorne Larrivee. “Our team has the versatility to deliver quick and effective solutions on complex and often fast-tracked projects that are delivered cost effectively, without undue complexity and with minimal demand on our clients.”

The company, which primarily works in Western Canada, was established in 1976 and has a long history of helping clients successfully complete their projects.

Project managers employed by Lawson bring years of experience to each project, and while trained as project managers, they often also have expertise in relevant areas such as senior roles in design, project administration, general contracting and cost estimating.

“Lawson Projects acts as the owner’s representative on projects,” says Larrivee. “We prefer to be engaged early in order to add maximum value to a project by taking the lead in bringing together the right people for the project team — then leading that team first through scope, schedule and budget development and then managing the timely delivery of all services required to successfully complete each project for our clients.”

The industry is a results-driven one, and that means solutions and projects must be both successful and sustainable.

“We apply innovation by performing options analyses with life-cycle costing on our projects,” says Larrivee. “We provide our clients with sustainable design options that include innovative solutions to extend the useful life of the project while also lowering the operating cost of the facility. We also use a team approach to apply innovation throughout our projects so our clients can be on the leading edge of the market with their development projects.”

The firm also leverages its relationship with Calgary Economic Development to effectively market its services.

“Action Calgary has given us the opportunity to partner directly with Calgary Economic Development on a selection of key initiatives and to promote real dialogue with other Action Calgary partners across a broad range of industries,” says Larrivee.

“As an Action Calgary partner, our company has also gained advertising exposure introducing our services to prospective new clients moving to Calgary.

“We truly appreciate the opportunity to promote Calgary through our partnership with Calgary Economic Development and other Action Calgary partners.”
