Can you say left?

-

In response to several articles, letters to the editor, and media analysis of this Alberta election, I would like to voice my frustration with the fact that, when anybody talks about the Wildrose, we hear or read right wing or centre right, but we never hear or read the expressions left wing or centre left describing the other parties.

All we get is “progressive” here, “progressive” there.

Premier Alison Redford’s big government spending, central government planning in education and union pandering are left-wing policies, not centre or centre right. They are socialist policies. The NDP, Liberals and PCS are now all mostly on the left of the political spectrum. If we are going to use right versus left vocabulary, then we should hear left as much as right in political analysis.

If we are going to stick to the issues and policies, then let’s stop using right or left altogether.

Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith is proposing common sense, reasonable policies that put Albertans first.

Stephane Desilets, Calgary Stephane Desilets is married to Corrie Adolph, the Wildrose candidate in Calgary-currie, and is working on her campaign.
