Police release name of man who died after parked car was hit on highway

HIGH RIVER • The person who died in a car crash south of the city has been identified as a 57-year-old man from Calgary.

High River RCMP said Thursday that Royale Brown was in a green Volkswagen parked on the shoulder of northbound Highway 2 early Wednesday afternoon.

A Chevrolet Venture minivan was travelling north when it hit the parked car.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the minivan and a passenger were both taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
