City’s second nofrills store opens

-

There’s going to be a party when the newest nofrills grocery store opens next week in Calgary. The store’s grand opening takes place Wednesday, April 11, at 4501 17 Ave. S.E., and owner Merv Newton invites you to celebrate with him.

“We’re really excited to be opening up in Forest Lawn,” he says. “We have a lot to offer people in the community.”

Only the second nofrills outlet in Calgary, the store gets back to basics of groceries.

“I think our customers are going to just love what we can offer them,” Newton says.

The nofrills concept includes a wide array of products including seafood, deli meats and cheeses, bakery, grocery products and frozen foods.

There’s also a great range of top-quality President’s Choice and No Name products, and a full selection of produce and meats that are fresh daily.

“It’s a return to old-time grocery, with value for your dollar,” Newton says. “I think people will see we provide exceptional value for our customers.”

Everyone at nofrills works hard to keep prices low.

The company keeps the store simple, without big advertising displays or costly fixtures, focusing instead on service, value and selection.

“It’s easy to navigate our store,” Newton says. “It’s uncomplicated and simple.

“We’re really excited to open — we can’t wait to welcome the community to our new store.”
