Two Canadian authors are award finalists
LITERATURE • Canadian authors Esi Edugyan and Patrick dewitt are two of the six finalists for the 2012 Walter Scott prize for historical fiction.
Former Calgarian Edugyan’s Half Blood Blues and dewitt’s The Sisters Brothers will be competing against Sebastian Barry’s On Canaan’s Side, Alan Hollinghurst’s The Stranger’s Child, Andrew Miller’s Pure and Barry Unsworth’s The Quality of Mercy for the $39,350 award.
The winner will be announced on June 16, at the Borders Book Festival in Scotland.
