Okotoks is nestled in the Sheep River valley about 20 kilometres south of Calgary.

It boasts a quaint, small-town feel with all of the conveniences of the big city — from shopping to schools and services.

It is also one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, with recent census figures pegging Okotoks’ 2011 population at 24,500, up 43 per cent from 2006. A Municipal Development Plan was established in 1998 that limited growth targets linked to infrastructure development limitations. The anticipated population at build out will be about 30,000 people.
