A mechanical engineer named Wayne Chiu launched Trico Group in 1989.

From there, the business spent the early 1990s building less than 20 houses per year.

But that production quickly grew, with the builder now responsible for more than 4,500 single-family and multi-family homes.

Trico Homes is currently building single-family homes in 14 Calgary and area communities. Its condo and townhouse developments are in four Calgary and area communities.

In 2010, Trico Homes was recognized as a platinum member of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for its seven years in a row showing.
