Running condo boards among topics at seminar

Taking the plunge into condo ownership means things like enjoying a maintenanc­e-free lifestyle — but it can come with some other responsibi­lities.

The Canadian Condominiu­m Institute –South Alberta chapter is hosting a course on condo board governance and how to run board meetings.

Condominiu­m Management 101 will be held at the Danish Canadian Club from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 19.

The seminar will cover topics such as conflict of interest, board confiden- tiality, bylaws, directors’ code of ethics, proxies, the appointmen­t and role of officers, and the Condominiu­m Property Act.

The course will be instructed by Stephen Cassady, president of CCISouth Alberta.

CCI is an independen­t, non-profit organizati­on that offers programs for condo owners, managers and directors.
