Senators will soon find out

-

The Ottawa Senators know they’ll be playing either the Boston Bruins or New York Rangers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, but they could be waiting until late tonight to find out officially who their opponent will be.

It could depend upon the outcome of their afternoon game against the New Jersey Devils, the Washington Capitals’ early evening game against the Rangers, and the Florida Panthers’ game against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

The Senators could settle it in the afternoon by getting at least a point from the Devils, which would mean they’d have seventh place locked up and would face the Bruins. If they don’t, they’ll have to wait for the other games to finish.
