Progress for the poor

Re: “Thank you, Premier, for keeping your promise,” John Chega, Opinion, April 12.

I loved John Chega’s honesty. As an AISH recipient, he beautifully painted the picture of his day-to-day financial struggles. Imagine having to make a decision of whether to purchase toilet paper or food. To most of us, it’s unfathomable.

Premier Alison Redford and the PC government are to be commended for all they have done for Alberta’s less fortunate citizens. Mental health issues have been addressed by Redford — truly a breath of fresh air. Albertans do have a heart and it is so important to demonstrate a consistent level of caring and compassion to everyone.

It is of concern to me that if a Wildrose government is elected, some of the inroads the PCS made may quickly go by the wayside.
