Then, imagine the Jack White version because White — who released his solo debut, Blunderbuss, on Tuesday — will provide the score to the upcoming Johnny Depp flick The Lone Ranger. He will be writing, producing and performing the whole thing, according to a Disney news release.

And, as the movie’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer quipped to a Cinemacon crowd Tuesday: “I can’t wait to hear (White’s) rendition of the William Tell Overture.”

According to Rolling Stone, Bruckheimer spoke briefly about the flick at Cinemacon, calling it “The Odd Couple meeting the Wild Bunch.”

The movie isn’t expected in theatres until May 31, 2013, though — enough time for the ever-prolific White to release a few dozen records, score a movie or five, and resurrect the career of some faded legend, no doubt. And the rocker’s upcoming schedule is looking booked, in keeping with his reputation.

Currently on tour, White’s show at New York’s Webster Hall will be live-streamed on Youtube and Vevo Friday starting at 7 p.m. Directed by Gary Oldman, White and the erstwhile Commissioner Gordon have been releasing previews of the online event over the past few days.

White’s Blunderbuss is out now. His North American tour has just one Canadian stop scheduled so far. He’ll play Vancouver May 27.
