Front and back, Cardel Homes’ new show home in Elgin Village courts something different. Turning away from the trend of attached front garages, Cardel Homes’ Courtyard Collection brings a fresh look to the front and back yards of the home. The Stockton Court — a 1,926-squarefoot, twostorey house — is a new show home from the Courtyard Collection.

Inspiring its courtyard name, the house trades in a traditional backyard for sizable green space that stretches along the side of the home, which has a rear-attached garage.

It includes a courtyard deck that’s ideal for barbecuing or reading a book on a warm day.

Inside, the plan includes three bedrooms on the second floor.

The master suite and two secondary bedrooms are separated by a full bathroom. One of the two secondary bedrooms faces the front of the home, while the other is adjacent to a large bonus room.

Bright with natural light, the master bedroom includes a large rear-facing window.

It connects to a rectangleshaped walk-in closet on one side of the room and access to a spa-inspired ensuite on the other side.

The ensuite feels luxurious with ceiling-height tile in the shower stall and 16-inch ceramic tile on the walls around the soaker tub.

The second floor also includes a laundry room located next to the master bedroom.

On the main floor, an openconcept floor plan connects the nook, kitchen and great room. This space includes nine-foot ceilings.

The kitchen features a number of designer elements, including granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, two inch crown moulding, softclose hardware and full-height kitchen backsplash.

The nook connects to the garage, making it convenient to haul groceries from the car.
